Privacy Policy — Sudict

Sudict is a language-learning app. This policy describes exactly what the app does with data. It is short because the app does little: there are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking of any kind.

What stays on your device
Everything about your learning is stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage:
- the words you have met, saved or been tested on, and the sentences you saved them with;
- your answers, and the timing and accuracy derived from them;
- texts you paste into the reader;
- your settings — languages, daily goal, preferences.
This data is never uploaded, never backed up to us, and never shared. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it, because it lives only in the app's private storage and we hold no copy. There is nothing for us to delete on request, and nothing for us to hand over.
What leaves your device
The app looks words up in a dictionary service at dict.rscflow.com. When you translate, search, read a text or start a lesson, the app sends to that service:
- the word, phrase or text you are looking up or reading;
- the language pair you are working with.
Nothing else is sent. No identifier, no account, no device fingerprint, no advertising ID, no contact or location data. The requests are not tied to you, because the app has nothing to tie them to.
Text you paste into the reader is sent to the dictionary service in order to be analysed into words. Do not paste text you consider confidential.
The connection uses HTTPS.
What we do not do
- We do not collect names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers or contacts.
- We do not collect or infer location.
- We do not use advertising, advertising identifiers, or profiling.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The app contains no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Google Analytics, no ad network, and no social-network SDK.
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
- We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.

Crash reports
If you choose to send a crash report through Google Play, it is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy, not by us. We receive only the anonymous stack trace Google shows in the Play Console. This happens only when you opt in on your device.
Your rights
Because your learning data never leaves your phone, you control it directly: uninstalling the app erases it completely. If you have a question about this policy, or believe the app behaves differently from what is described here, write to tsosx@proton.me and we will answer.
Under the GDPR the lawful basis for sending your lookups to the dictionary service is performance of the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)) — the app cannot translate a word without asking the dictionary what it means.
Dictionary data and licences
Dictionary content comes from openly licensed sources, credited inside the app on every entry. Typological data comes from WALS and Glottolog, both CC-BY-4.0.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
